Dr. Burnette talks with Snupe about game and gala
If you haven't heard, the HT Rams baseball team is playing Texas College this Saturday at Downs Field - and game admission is FREE and OPEN TO PUBLIC! Following the game, members of the Negro Baseball League will be honored (with photo opps available). Dr. Burnette (or Collete, as we like to call our friend), president of Huston-Tillotson spoke with Snupe Daniel about this weekend's game, and the follow up 'Diamonds in the Outfield' gala to be held at Austin Hilton the following Saturday (April 15th).

The Rams baseball team will play host to the Texas College Steers at noon Saturday. After the game, former Negro League players Joe Lewis, Marion Shaw, Richard “Lefty” O’Neal, Everett Turner, Raymond “Red” Hardee, Allen Hicks and Clifton Fifer will be honored.
Estella Wells, daughter of the late Willie Wells, is scheduled to represent her family at the event. Willie Wells, a superb hitting and fielding shortstop from Austin, was a Negro League All-Star and played in Canada, Mexico and Cuba as well. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997.
Admission to Saturday’s game and the program afterward is free.
